 Nice, but...

this is not a KDE app, but a Qt app.
And there's an error in Capitalism.pro:

I know that. But it still compiles fine.
I have fixed it already and in the next release the project file is ok.
I hope i can release it soon, because in Alpah1 is a crah, when joineing a game with it.
So if you want to play with it: Use Capitalism to create a game!
This crash is also fixed. :)

Don't have a crash, but no opponents. All servers are idle, at least that is stated from Capitalism.
And you should really move to qt-apps.org.

 Wrong tarball suffix

by cygwinports on: Dec 27 2009

The source tarball is named .tbz but is really gzip-compressed. This must be named .tgz or .tar.gz to work correctly.

 A couple issues

by Aethera on: Jan 20 2010

I closed a couple of the panes on the left side and cannot find a way to reopen them. I also cannot locate a config file anywhere that would store the settings. Am using the latest stable version under windows.

Rightclick the menubar to get a menu where you can bring the closes panes back.

Thanks - I didn't see that and just deleted the registry entry which reset everything. Am playing it now - thanks! This is a nice app. Looking forward to future releases. It really needs a view where you can see all your property cards as with Atlantik, and also hotkeys (e.g. ctrl-R to roll) Thanks again!

Actuallay there are shortcuts (Just not configurable):
Ctrl+R to Roll
Ctrl+B to buy
Ctrl+A to auction
Ctrl+E to end turn
Alt+R to roll in jail
Alt+C to use card in jail
Alt+P tp pay in jail

With the 0.2 stable version I'm using ctrl-r seems to not work.

Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help this project - I'm running Win7 on this machine. I can compile if you tell me what libs I need and also help with documentation.

By the way, earlier when I tried the download the latest beta 2 src from linux-ecke, it looked like it was redirecting to a malware site. It gave a false warning in my browser and tried to open a bunch of different sites. The link for the win 0.2 stable binary works however.

I checked my links to the packages: All are fine. And since my official page (wich needs completation) is static the only way to modify something is via ftp access.

What you can do:
Translation (or checking it)
Testing
Better artwork (minor priority)
A Handbook
I possible: Make Mac OS packages.
Completation for the website
A new icon (Should look like now, but better)

I have made a SourceForge project for it:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/capitalism/

 italian translation

by brainvision on: Mar 15 2010

Hi man,

how are you?
I'm trying your Capitalism because I loved a lot playing Monopoly when I was younger.. but, to be honest, I wasn't able to play a game because the 4 servers were always empty when I tried.. I hope to be lucky in next hours.. :)
Anyway, what I would ask you now is if you need someone who wants translate Capitalism into italian language.. I would be glad to do it!, if you need..

Let me know as soon as you can, so I can start working on it..

Have a nice day, see you!!

If you want you can join my SourceForge.net project to be able to upload translations directly to the SVN trunk.
Otherwise i can mail you your ts file to be translated.
